Welcome to the Supertoy project

...more stuff coming soon

The Supertoy team are children from Headley Park Primary School in Bristol who are designing a supertoy for children. They manage the project in collaboration with some adults. This web site is used to organise, inform, publicise and distribute information on the Supertoy team's activities.

Things to think about

What is a toy?
What are toys made of?
Where do they come from?
What sounds do toys make?
What's it like to be a toy?
What is play?
What is real?
What are object relations?
What is a mechanism, machine, human, child?
How does a robot work? How could it work differently?
What things need to be considered in the design of a toy?
What is a supertoy?

David was staring out of the window. "Teddy, you know what I was thinking? How do you tell what are real things from what aren't real things" The bear shuffled its alternatives. "Real things are good."... David started to draw a jumbo jet on the back of his letter. "You and I are real, Teddy, aren't we? The bear's eyes regarded the boy unflinchingly. "You and I are real, David." It specialised in comfort.
